Introduction
This is an introductory guide to planning your visit to Canberra for the Awards. If you need more detail please go to http://www.visitcanberra.com.au, this website is a fantastic resource. We recommend you take the time to check it out.
By now you should have received a copy of the 8th AGDA National Biennial Awards invitation booklet in the mail. If you have not got a copy, or would like extra copies you can contact your local State Council (see Contacts and Councils) or Liam Camilleri (details below).
Getting around
Parliament House is south of Lake Burley Griffin and sits atop Capital Hill in the Parliamentary triangle. Neighbouring suburbs are Yarralumla, Barton, Forrest, Kingston and Griffith (including Manuka shops). Just across Commonwealth Avenue Bridge is the city, known as Civic. Suburbs close to the city include Acton, Braddon and Dickson.
Northbourne Avenue is the main road into Canberra for both Sydney and Melbourne traffic. Indeed, if you follow it for long enough you will end up at Awards central, Parliament House.
