1. Aiap - Italian Graphic Design Association [11/7/01]
   Mostly in Italian language

2. AIGA
   American Institute of Graphic Arts The US equivalent to AGDA, and probably the largest graphic design associations in the world. Events, publications, resources and issues for US graphic designers.

3. British Design & Art Direction(D&AD) [31/1/2001]
   Longstanding UK design association with strong ties to both advertising and graphic design.

4. Chartered Society of Designers
   UK multi-disciplinary designers association.

5. Design Business Association (DBA), UK
   The UK Design Business Association exists to promote professional excellence through productive partnerships between commerce and the design industry to champion effective design which improves the quality of people's lives.

6. Design Council, UK [31/1/2001]
   A UK, government-funded foundation with multi-disciplinary coverage and a mandate to foster the use of design by corporations, through direct action and via trade association relationships. Some great resources and case studies. Strong bias towards product design, but definitely worth a look.

7. Design Institute of Australia

8. Design Management Institute
   US association for design managers, heavily skewed towards industrial design, but with some graphic design case studies. They do a good range of international design management conferences. Good source of client-speak.

9. Graphic Designers of Canada
   Canadian equivalent to AGDA. Have an interesting Designer Accreditation system in place, but no concrete results from this program as yet.

10. ICOGRADA
    International Council of Graphic Design Associations International design news and events. Looking for tax deductible conferences in exotic places?

11. Society For Environmental Graphic Design
    SEGD is an interdisciplinary design association, founded in 1973 to promote the professional development and understanding of environmental graphic design, (EGD) a diverse field that includes the planning, design and specifying of graphic elements in the built and natural environment. EGD work includes signage, wayfinding systems, mapping, exhibit design, themed environments, retail spaces, sports facilities and campus design. [And our own Garry Emery was a judge in the 1999 SEGD Awards - Ed]

"i wish to know where to find graphic design associations across Asia, mount a webpage about China and webdesign on my personal site, gabyu (http://www.gabyu.com). There is so low ressources written in English about Asian graphic design. Only Austratia/NZ, HK (idn) and Japan (shift) really make efforts for it. I wish to translate these information in English and simplified Chinese.
