Design Speed Dating is just what it sounds like - a unique chance to meet a roomful of business people, spend exactly three minutes with each one - and maybe find your perfect client.

Design Speed Dating brings together 20 carefully selected business clients with 20 designers, and then lets nature take its course.

After a brief introduction, you'll break up into 2 groups of 10 designers and 10 business people each. Then the clock starts ticking, and you get 3 minutes to talk to each potential client - tell them a little about yourself, what you do and why you do it - before the music stops and everyone changes.

And in just 30-40 minutes, you will have made ten new contacts you never had.

Then after the fun dies down, you'll be able to mingle and chat over a drink and nibbles - and follow up with anyone that you really clicked with. Who knows - you could find the businessman or woman of your dreams. You'll certainly have fun trying. And you'll be honing your presentation skills into the bargain.

Once registration opens you'll need to book quick - the musical chairs are limited.

Date and venue: TBC, but will be one evening, possible Monday 10th or Tuesday 11th, during the Melbourne Design Festival
