STIMULATE YOUR THINKING, ELECTRIFY YOUR BUSINESS

21 to 24 August 2007
Holiday Inn Adelaide, 65 Hindley Street

The big brands are coming to town along with probably the biggest contingent of marketing professionals at an event in Australia this year. Plug into a big program with some of the world's hottest brands and speakers.

AGDA is presenting two speakers:

Steven Cornwell, Cornwell

Floating in Public. Leveraging knowledge, research and people to gain a competitive advantage. The Woods Bagot story, a designers tale.

Woods Bagot is an international architecture firm with over 600 staff worldwide. Steven was recently commissioned to assist them in establishing a global brand position. His presentation identifies the importance of the presence of 'designers' in the strategy (against all marketers advice), his thoughts on market research as an intrinsic idea generator, and knowledge workers as the future of business. He will also present the research platform that transformed the way Woods Bagot behaves, the shift in their reputation globally and the doors that have opened since. This insightful presentation illustrates how a 150 year old business, that started in Adelaide, became a global brand.

Michael Graham, Landor

In a five second world there is less and less room for the 30 second commercial

The vast majority of companies in business today are still addicted to the media drug. Yet within their grasp is a medium and a means of communication that taps Malcolm Gladwellês insight into the world in which we live. In this entertaining and provocative presentation Michael Graham will challenge the way that design is used by designers and their clients. From a different view of the role of design to the way that companies have used design as a competitive tool, Michael will share some examples and insights of what to do and how to maximise your brand, the most powerful asset available to business today.
