Kerrie Powell was born in Melbourne, in 1974, and studied graphic design at the University of Ballarat, graduating in 1995. As the winning recipient of the 1995 Overseas Traveling Award, she has worked in several countries for the past seven years.

Since 1997, Kerrie has been working as a designer for the international design consultancy Pentagram. Her tenure there began in their London office where, for two years she worked for partner, John Rushworth, managing accounts for clients such as 1837 at Browns Hotel (Raffles International Hotel Group), Tesco's (United Kingdom's leading supermarket chain) and Lego International.

In 1999, Kerrie moved to the New York office and was elected Associate Partner in June 2003. She works with partner, Michael Bierut, handling graphic programmes for One Central Park Condominiums at AOL Time Warner Center (The Related Companies), Chambers A Hotel, Town, The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, Mohawk Paper Mills, Harvard Business School, and Yale University Schools of Architecture, Medicine and Drama.

Prior to her career at Pentagram, Kerrie worked briefly for Jean Robert & Kuti Robert-Durrer at Robert & Durrer, Zurich, and with Maciej Buszewicz at BC Grafika, Warsaw. These contacts were acquired while representing her University at the 1995 AGIdeas (Student International Graphic Design Conference committee), organized with Cato Design Inc.

Kerrie is actively involved in the design community, guest lecturing/critiquing at universities and art colleges and judging awards such as the 1st International Polaroid Photography Awards contest and PDN (Photo District News)/Nikon Self Promotion Contest.

Kerrie's work has been printed in various international publications, received a number of design awards from organizations such as the Art Directors Club (NY) and the Type Directors (NY) and is represented in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco.
