FAQ

by Andrew Lam-Po-Tang, Site Editor

Every now and then, as Editor of this site, I receive emails from people such as Tim Gaze from Adelaide:

I'm a writer & poet.

I've taken these arts to the point of no words at all: asemic writing. Please see http://www.asemic.net for a little more information.

Also written some playful ancient Chinese characters, among many other experiments.

My intention is to help stitch together a global form of writing, largely independent of existing languages or traditional writing systems.

Asemic writing is both a new wave of culture, & a recognition of a range of works which didn't sit comfortably in other categories.

Asemic writing is a strange concept, but worth a look because it provokes reflection on the nature of writing and recognition of written symbols - always a good thing for a designer to think about, I reckon.

Thanks for the tip, Tim!
