emzin@guest.arnes.si
On 23 > 24 May, Emzin will host Stephen Doyle and Gael Towey. Stephen Doyle is the principal and creative director at Doyle Partners, a New York-based design studio founded in 1985 and known for its expertise in graphic design, communications and marketing. Stephen Doyle brings his background in editorial design to play in some unlikely places – from mass market retail to exhibitions, from corporate communications to packaging. His notable clients include Martha Stewart Everyday, Barnes & Noble, and the global real estate firm Tishman Speyer. Gael Towey is the founding Art Director of Martha Stewart Living Magazine. Over the past 15 years, the breadth of Gael’s creative direction has expanded with the rapid growth of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and in May 2005 she was named Chief Creative Officer.
Stephen Doyle will open the seminar with the presentations of visible language on the basis of typography and the language of colour. On the second day, Gael Towey will track the evolution of a brand and present the anatomy of the creative process. Each day will end with a workshop, where both lecturers will interact as coaches and collaborators with the attendees.

Out of the Table of Contents: The very best 24 typographic destinations in the fair city of Toronto, Canada. Sometimes our strongest influences are the people and things in our own backyard. The stuff we can take for granted, sloff off, and ignore. If you look beyond the Mcdonald’s, Starbuck’s, and Walmarts, every city has its own inimitable typographic style. Within the city, distinct neighbourhoods add their own twists and flavours to the typographic landscape we all live within. Toronto is no different. Las Vegas, Toronto is not. Nor is it Cleveland, Berlin, Tokyo, or São Paulo. Toronto is unique in its subtleties, its stoicism, its place in the world. Its typography.
