Networking in the Cozy Nordic Metropolis of Copenhagen: The Era 05 World Design Congress in Context

Building upon the proceedings of earlier Era 05 events in Helsinki, Gothenburg and Oslo, the Era 05 World Design Congress, taking place from 26>28 September 2005, will examine the role of design and designers in addressing commercial and social affairs in greater detail - in addition to offering up the cozy Nordic metropolis of Copenhagen as terrain for exploration. Because this magnitude of an international, interdisciplinary design event takes place only once every six years - when Icsid, Icograda and IFI converge in one place - it is not to be missed by anyone interested in holistic design theory and practice.

Typevents Now Accepting Bookings for Typographic Walking Tours of London

Typevents has now opened bookings for typographic walking tours of London. The tour starts at the St Bride Institute, home to the worlds’ foremost library for printing and the graphic arts, and takes in many fascinating stops including Salisbury Court, the site of Samuel Richardson’s printing works; Bolt Court, home to Dr. Johnson, author or the first English dictionary; Carter Lane, where London’s only example of ‘Sgrafitto’ can be seen; and Postman’s Park, a lesser-known corner of the capital, where there is an inscribed memorial to the strange, but heroic actions of a young compositor.
