Icograda Endorses TYPO.GRAPHIC.BEIRUT 2005
Icograda has endorsed TYPO.GRAPHIC.BEIRUT 2005 - the first ever major graphic design event of its kind to be held in the Middle East.* The three-day conference will bring together graphic design professionals, educators and students from the region and around the world to Lebanon to exchange views on typography and graphic design. Featuring more than 20 speakers and a mix of exhibitions, workshops, social functions and excursions, this conference will offer engaging discussions about design thought and practice. The conference will be held 14-16 April 2005 at Lebanese American University in Beirut.

LOGO2004 Presents the Best in Visual Identity Design
Capital Corporation Image Institution (CCII) has announced the top award winners of LOGO2004: 4th International Logo Biennial Competition. LOGO2004 aims to recognise exceptional logo designs from the Asia-Pacific region and around the world, and acts as a professional forum of identity design. The event was organised by CCII in China, and endorsed by Icograda.* LOGO2004 exhibitions have already been held in Shanghai (29 September - 18 October 2004) and Hangzhou (4-12 December 2004). CCII is currently planning more travelling exhibitions for 2005.

Call for Participation: 12th 'Students, All to Chaumont!' Poster Competition
The International Poster and Graphic Arts Festival Festival of Chaumont, France, in collaboration with the Secours Populaire Francais, invite students from around the world to enter the 12th 'Students, All to Chaumont!' Poster Competition. The theme for this year's competition is 'Everything human is our concern.' First prize is 1000 euros. Selected works will be published in an exhibition catalogue and showcased from 21 May to 26 June 2005 in the Icograda-endorsed 16th Chaumont Poster Festival.* Entry deadline is 11 March 2005.

International Travel Souvenir Design Competition 2005 Korea - Deadline for 2nd Phase is 25 January
After receiving 650 entries from 39 countries, International Travel Souvenir Design Competition 2005 Korea has announced the results of the first screening. Following the theme 'The Power of Beauty,' the competition aims to elevate the quality of travel souvenirs and to build a tourism industry network for creating, marketing and merchandising tourism designs. Those selected in the first screening may submit their finished products or mock-ups for the second-phase evaluation from 15 January to 25 January 2005. The competition is organised by Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and endorsed by Icograda.*

:output student competition calls for input
:output - one of the biggest international competitions for students of visual communication - invites students to submit work related to an area of Visual Communication (such as Graphic Design, Typography, Photography, Illustration, Typeface Design, Multimedia and Moving Image). Works selected by the international jury will be published in the yearbook :output. The publication creates a forum for students and their work, and provides readers with access to design originating from different countries and cultures. Entry deadline is 15 February 2005.

Icograda and The Omnium Project (Australia) invite students, educators, and design practitioners to participate in a unique and interactive series of free online projects for students studying, or interested in, graphic design, photomedia and visual communication. Creative Waves 03>04>05 will take place over a 6-week period during March and April 2005. It will link between 50-80 art and design students, and their teachers, from educational institutions around the globe belonging to the Icograda Education Network (IEN). Using Omnium's unique online 'studio' interface, participants will interact in small creative teams to challenge and respond to an unfolding design brief. Design practitioners may participate in a mentoring, critiquing or collaborative role.
