Sappi to support eleven cause related designs

Sappi, the world's leading producer of coated fine paper used for high quality print, is funding eleven creative campaigns submitted in the Sappi Ideas that matter programme. This unique initiative invites graphic designers to apply for substantial grants of up to € 50,000 to fund the implementation of their ideas that support a worthy cause close to their hearts. This year 214 applications were received from the European design community.
The eleven selected campaigns promote the following causes: Wer was drauf hat, hat was drauf / Steirische Aids-Hilfe (Austria), Streetwork – mobile Jugendarbeit / mobile work with youngsters (Austria), Better play music / promotion de la musique auprès des jeunes (Belgium), Symbiose / Down Syndrom (Germany), Mit anderen Augen / Kinderkulturbrücke im Kosovo (Germany), Diakonisches Werk im Kirchenkreis Niederberg / upgrade of life grade of seniors (Germany), Die Bundesdeutsche Initiative für ein Verbot von Landminen (Germany), Tobacco and Pregnancy (France), Love/Check / Aids (Netherlands), Missing / Alzheimers Society (United Kingdom) and NSPCC Full stop / prevention of cruelty to children (United Kingdom).

Do you consider the Internet to have made an influence in your work?

Surely, Internet has made more information accessible than ever before and we can browse freely through design works form around the world. Yet, web aesthetics differ greatly from others and have perhaps made an impact onto our visual world. We want to know if you consider the Internet to have made a significant influence in your work.

Give your opinion and vote at http://www.icograda.org

How many design exhibitions you participate in per year?

As we try to find out more about your design work and practice, we wanted to know how active you are in exhibitioning your work. To determine this, we have asked you in how many exhibitions  (approximately) you partake in a year.

As seen earlier, most designers are not very keen on exhibiting their work. Reasons may very, but almost 70 percent of you stated they do not participate in design exhibitions at all. Twenty percent take part in one or two design exhibitions, while just 11 percent participate in three or more exhibitions per year.

How many design exhibitions you participate in per year?
Three or more 11%
One or two 20%
None 69%
