CorporateIdMaker: A Proposal
by Petr van Blokland
CorporateIdMaker is web based server program that simulates the design process for corporate identities. It takes information from a customer, selects what it needs from a set of predefined elements and ready-made formats from a library (its design knowledge and experience) and creates solutions that will fit the customers=8F needs. The output can be downloaded from the site.

Did you graduate in Graphic Design?
Nowadays there are many design schools available for prospective students. Yet, design being a rather young profession, many designers entered this field from other professions, such as fine arts, architecture or even marketing. We want to know how many of you have attended design schools or graduated in design or graphic arts.
Give your opinion and vote at http://www.icograda.org

Do you think a global network of design schools/colleges could benefit the graphic design profession as a whole?
Yes 61%
Maybe 11%

In this era of brand awareness, many of the most profitable companies consider the message=D0both visual and verbal=D0their most effective sales tool. As a design professional, you play a critical role in the effective communication of that message. However, do you ever feel that your professional contribution is viewed as an expense rather than an investment? If so, learn to create a voice and image that projects credibility and value to high-level management. Develop techniques that demonstrate how your creative contribution has a positive impact on the bottom line. This seminar offers practical hands-on experiences you can take back to your office and apply immediately.
