Visual Communication Today
Dear Friends,
At the beginning of this new millenium, Korea is organising an exceptional Icograda Congress : Oullim, The Great Harmony.
It is most important that we participate in this special event. Many fascinating events are being organised alongside the Congress for the benefit of the international community of graphic designers. This is a unique opportunity for every country to present a "snapshot" of the state of graphic design.
I have accepted the responsibility of organising such an exhibition, with the cooperation of our professional, promotional and educational colleagues in Korea (Vidak, KEDC & KIDP).
I know time is very short but the enthusiasm already generated by this project reinforces my conviction of the importance and potential of such an exhibition.
The exhibition will be presented as part of the Oullim Congress in the COEX Congress Center in Seoul. The Oullim Congress organisers have generously provided financial, administrative and technical support for organising and preparing the exhibition. I have been invited to curate and arrange the exhibition and will be traveling to Seoul before the Congress to oversee preparation.
The exhibition is open to all countries and all are invited to participate. We welcome submissions by professional associations who are members of Icograda and also groups of designers in countries that have yet to develop professional associations.
Graphically Yours,
Competition stimulates,
Cooperation reinforces
and solidarity brings together.
Guy Schockaert,
Icograda Immediate Past President
