Workshop Poster Today
Trnava, Slovakia
This year organisers of the Trnava Poster Triennial prepared additional accompanying events. The project "Window" presented, during three months before the triennial, the best posters from previous years in the window of the CD shop on the town square. "Poster Today" was organised by the POSTER association and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. It was aimed at the professional public. Poster project "Plane," a wall of posters on the town square in Trnava, is a project for the wider public.

Cervantes, 450 + 1

A commemorative book of the 450th anniversary of the birth of the Spanish writer Don Miguel de Cervantes. The company "Nova Era" impelled the project ordering to different designers and photographers the free interpretation from a "short novel" from Cervantes.

Jeremy Leslie is creative director of John Brown Publishing and the author of Issues: New magazine design, to be published this month by Laurence King. His other books include Bored: surf, skate, snow board graphics (with Patrick Burgoyne, Laurence King) and FC: football graphics (also with Patrick Burgoyne, Thames & Hudson).

This ongoing, key position is responsible for lecturing across all levels of the Graphic Design program. The successful applicant will already have a graduate qualification in Design and ideally will be pursuing further academic study. The University may support the appointee in obtaining an appropriate PhD qualification. The appointee will be required to develop and maintain professional links with industry, initiate and manage both internal and external student project work while fostering the research and consultancy activities of the Design program. Applications will remain open until a suitably qualified and experienced candidate is appointed.

This competition is open for cardboard and corrugated board packaging whose new shape, technology and graphics used should serve to create a non-traditional design. The packaging is viewed as a means of product protection and presentation. The competition maps new approaches to packaging technologies and related production.
The competition is open for students of vocational high schools and colleges of the graphic arts and free-lanced designers up to the age of thirty. The former are kindly requested to have their applications approved by their schools.
