Meet at the Icograda Regional Meeting in Seoul

For Immediate Release
Official delegates from 15 Asia-region nations, including Australia and Russia, have met for two days in Seoul, Korea to share information regarding the state of the graphic design and visual communication profession in their countries. Members of the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda), as well as representatives of nations which do not have formal design organizations, presented reports and joined in open exchange. This unique meeting represented the first time that these diverse nations have formally met to compare opportunities and challenges related to design and visual communications.
Participants included Australia, China (Mainland and Hong Kong), India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey, and Vietnam.

Olav J[cedilla]nke from Hamburgs'Studio Ondesing received the award of the 1th Logo Competition [greater equal]Brandmark in the Market[less equal], organised by the BDG in co-operation with its partners: the Design Centre Stuttgart, Paper Union and Handelsblatt Publishing House.
This award was granted for the design of the logo of the international company HGP Audioelektronik.
During the Award Ceremony, Dr. Walter D[^]ring, the Minister of Commerce of Baden-W[cedilla]rtenberg said that [greater equal]as a minister of an economically strong region he is interested in such events, because they obviously show to the public, that design is not just making of nice pictures, but it is a prowerfull engine which moves the market.[less equal]

Hard Sleeper is the concluding part in the Dreaming Trilogy. Conceived and produced by Peter Maybury, this release comprises a 13 track CD and a 72 page book. Described by Maybury as "the detritus of pop," tentative shapes and melodies are pieced together through fragments of dislocated sounds. Drums, piano, analog synthesizers and guitars create an aural backdrop to the pages of the book, allowing music and images to travel a parallel journey through dreamy landscapes drifting in and out of focus -- as if memories or thoughts that come to you while traveling, passing from waking to sleeping and other states of semi-consciousness.
