President Kim of Korea honored designers and business managers in the1999 Korea Industrial Design Convention which took place at Chong Wa Dae on November 10, drawing 200 individuals from government, industry, academia, related associations, and the design field. At the convention, a wide range of national strategies to promote design as part of the knowledge-based industry and the government's vision for the design industry in the 21st century were announced. The Graphic Design department is currently searching for a new department head. We are looking for a designer and scholar with administrative experience who can help us maintain the excellence of our undergraduate program, continue the development of our master's program and participate in the new collaborative Ph.D. program in Design. We are looking for someone with a vision for the future of our department and the future of the graphic design profession. The department head must be committed to diversity in all forms. This individual needs to be able to work within a small design school and to work with colleagues from other design fields.
