programs)
- The due date for applications has been extended to 31 October 1998
- This is FREE!
AGDA in conjunction with International Specialised Skills (ISS) is
pleased to invite expression of interest from suitably qualified and
eligible AGDA members for the second AGDA ISS Fellowship.
The Fellowship carries on the work originated by the AGDA Foundation
which saw the awarding of three overseas study scholarships to AGDA
student members in recent years and saw its first professional award
made to John Frostell in 1997 for attendance and representation of AGDA
and Sydney Design '99 at the ICOGRADA Congress and General Assembly in
Uruguay.
In recent weeks, the inaugural AGDA ISS Student Fellowship was awarded
to a Victorian student to enable participation in the intern program at
the San Francisco offices of Landor Associates.
The Fellowship currently on offer will be awarded to an AGDA member,
having no less that 5 years professional experience, for the purpose of
gaining skills relating to our profession which are not present in the
workplace or are not available through avenues of formal education.
Importantly, Fellowship recipients are required to bring the experience
of their learning back to their Australian colleagues, usually in the
form of reports, presentations or seminars, to complete a cycle of
education from which the Australian graphic design industry as a whole
may benefit.
The first stage of application will be to register expressions of
interest no later than 31 October 1998 by mail to the ISS offices at
which point detailed information regarding final applications will
forwarded by return. Written applications will then be shortlisted to a
point where
approximately three final interviews will be granted before an award is
made. (It is typical for applicants of other ISS Fellowships to propose
their own areas of learning and appropriate destinations to undertake
them as part of their final applications.) It is anticipated that an
award will be made before the end of the year.
All enquiries for the AGDA ISS Fellowship, be they expressions of
interest or otherwise, should be made in writing to ISS at the following
